Literacy – Coming of Age – Narrative Essay

One of the main topics that we were focusing on in Literacy class is Coming of Age. Students were able to write something about themselves in approximately 7 weeks. It was hard on what to choose, but I decided to write about my family. In this lesson, I got to write about what I felt and read some of my friends’ stories. It was truly inspiring and I found out that everyone has a unique story. This essay is kind of personal to me, and I hope you won’t criticise this. Please click here to read my first draft.

PSAT

On October 14th, every senior in Liger had a PSAT practice in Khan Academy. We were focusing on Math and Reading/Writing/Language Usage. It was very complicated for me to answer the questions, but I was happy that I get to do this practice because not a lot of us in Cambodia has the opportunity to practice before hand. From doing the test, it gave me a better idea what SAT looks like. My overall score was 960, and both scores for Math and R&W were the same. I wish to improve my Math and R&W when the next PSAT coming up because 960 points is too low.

My name is Samady, I am 17 years old and a student at the Liger Leadership Academy in Cambodia. I am passionate about making a difference in my country and the world, and I believe that everyone else has the potential to do it too. I love film making and photography. I find so much inspiration from these medias because pictures and films depict emotions that I can very much relate to. I am very lucky enough to be apart of Liger. Without Liger, I wouldn’t know current events and I wouldn’t have the opportunity to help my nations and other people.
